Who am I?

Shalom, my name is Or Liber, and I am a PhD student in Biblical Studies in Israel. I live with my wife Tal and our two wonderful children in Eliav, a lovely and small community in Israel where religious and non-religious Jews live in a diverse and liberal community.

After years of learning and teaching in schools and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, I believe that I can help many of you fulfill your dream of finding new treasures in the Bible by learning biblical Hebrew.

  • B.A with honors in Biblical Studies and Hebrew Language from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.

  • M.A in Biblical Studies from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem

  • PhD student in Biblical Studies at Bar-Ilan University

  • Teaching certificate from “The Kerem Institute for Humanistic Jewish Education" in Jerusalem.

  • How can I learn Hebrew online? Isn’t face-to-face better?
Online learning allows you to connect from the comfort of your home and meet people from all over the world. It’s a wonderful way to learn in a diverse, interactive environment. Practically, online studies are as effective as face-to-face!
  • Will I be able to read and understand Biblical Hebrew in three weeks?
You’ll gain a solid foundation with all the letters, vowels, and reading techniques needed to start your journey. Mastery takes time, but this course will give you a strong first step.
  • If I miss a class, is there a way to catch up?
Absolutely! All lessons are recorded and will be available on the course website.
  • Do I need prior knowledge to join the course?
No prior knowledge is required. We’ll start from the basics and move forward together.
  • How much time should I dedicate to this course?
Each lesson lasts one hour, with an additional hour of preparation time suggested for each class.
  • Will this course teach me modern Hebrew too?
This course focuses on Biblical Hebrew, which differs from modern Hebrew. While it’s helpful for learning the alphabet, modern Hebrew is not covered.

I have teaching experience

I’ve taught in schools, universities, and various fields. But above all, I simply love teaching. It’s part of who I am, part of my identity

Why Learn with Me?

Hebrew is my native language

If  you learn Biblical Hebrew, it’s best to do so with someone who knows the language in all its depth and layers.

The holy Land is my home

If you study the Hebrew Bible, it’s best to learn from someone who truly knows the land where it was written.
