The Heart Behind the Course
Maybe you’ve already tried to learn Biblical Hebrew, but gave up along the way, overwhelmed by scattered materials and no clear path forward. Let’s be honest: YouTube isn’t where languages are truly learned. Without structure, guidance, and the right tools, even the most motivated learners can feel lost.

What We’ll Explore Together
The linguistic content is the core of the course, but we will also enrich it with the depth of the Bible- after all, that’s why we’re here. Here is a list of topics we will cover throughout the lessons, each one drawn from the Hebrew practice of that specific session.
Lesson 1: יְהוָ֥ה שְׁמוֹ
YHWH is His Name —
How to read and understand God’s personal name. Ending the confusion.
Lesson 4: יְהוָ֥ה רֹעִ֗י
YHWH is My Shepherd —
How does God guide us through darkness?
Lesson 2: וַתְּמַלֵּ֥א כַדָּ֖הּ לִשְׁאֹ֑ב וַתָּ֣רֶץ הַנַּ֔עֲרָ
Rebecca hurries to draw water from the spring — and unexpectedly finds love.
The link between love and water in the Bible.
Lesson 5: מָוֶת וְחַיִּים בְּיַד־לָשׁוֹן
Death and Life Are in the Power of the Tongue —
Can words truly kill?
Lesson 3: עָפָ֣ר אֲנָ֑חְנוּ
We Are Dust -
Does the Bible separate body and soul?
Lesson 6: אָמֵן, אֱמוּנָה, נֶאֱמָנוּת
Amen, Truth, and Faith -
What’s the connection between these Hebrew words?

Why Students Love This Course

"Or Liber not only teaches what is in a course book but also shares his extensive knowledge. I wouldn’t hesitate to study with him again!"
Grace Lan, Scotland

I started working with Or to improve reading and understanding biblical hebrew and already after 5-6 lessons i feel a huge difference in my reading skills, and mostly understanding what I am reading. Or knows how to teach and how to pass on complicated information in a simple way.
Nathan Zchut, Netherland

For years I had the desire to learn Hebrew and always thought impossible but when I had my first lesson with Or I was so happy to actually be able to read!
Matthew Poznanski, Finland
Who is this course for?
If you already know how to read the Hebrew alphabet, but haven’t yet started learning Biblical Hebrew.
-
If you’ve begun learning on your own, but feel the need for a clear, structured method to guide you forward.
-
If you studied the basics in the past and want to review the material, to relaunch your journey with the Hebrew Bible.

Now, imagine that the Hebrew Bible feels familiar to you.
You’ll be able to open the Bible and actually read it. The Hebrew will no longer feel foreign. You’ll notice things most readers miss- like differences between translations and deeper layers of meaning. This course opens the door to a clearer, more personal connection with the text.
However, this course isn’t just about learning the language.
It’s not only about recognizing words and phrases or debating the most accurate translation. It’s more than that.Alongside learning the structure of the language, we’ll read some of the most beautiful and meaningful passages in the Hebrew Bible—the Shema, love poems from Song of Songs, the stories of the patriarchs, and much more.
Yes, we all know that learning a language takes time - it’s a gradual process, built brick by brick.
That’s why this course doesn’t promise that you’ll be able to read Biblical Hebrew fluently by the end.
However, the goal should be more profound than that.
We’re not aiming to become academic scholars of Biblical Hebrew or to speak it fluently. Rather:
The goal is to bring the Hebrew Bible into your personal Bible study — to weave it into your daily life.
And that’s no simple task. Most learners give up on language study after a while.
That’s why this course is designed to leave you not just inspired, but equipped, with the most practical, simple tools to hold on to this beautiful language even after the course ends.

Meet Your Teacher
Shalom, my name is Or Liber. I’m a biblical Hebrew teacher from Israel and a PhD student in biblical studies. The Hebrew Bible and its language are the love of my life, and I’m here to share that love with anyone who cherishes the Bible but doesn’t yet have access to its original language.

Have you ever felt disconnected from what you were reading?
Have you ever read a Bible verse and wondered, “Is that really what it says?”
Maybe you've compared different translations, only to find contradictions and confusion. Or perhaps you’ve felt a longing to go beyond the surface — to connect more deeply with the text, to hear it in its original voice.
In six weeks, I’ll give you not only everything you need to build a strong foundation in Biblical Hebrew, but also help you dive into the beautiful stories and profound ideas of the Hebrew Bible

As for the following lessons, if needed, we’ll find a suitable solution together.Although there are many similarities between Biblical Hebrew and Modern Hebrew, we will focus only on Biblical Hebrew.
Learning a foreign language is a gradual process—it's not easy, but it's a gratifying experience.
Already, after a few weeks, you'll start to feel how Biblical Hebrew begins to open up to you.
However, thoroughly reading and understanding the language takes more than six weeks.Attending the lessons without independent practice is possible, but not recommended.
There's no substitute for personal practice when learning a language.
To achieve meaningful results, it's highly recommended to work on your own as well and come to class prepared. Most of the course time will be dedicated to learning the original language of the Hebrew Bible.
However, we'll set aside a weekly segment to enrich the learning with insights related to the texts we've studied.
